Well it's now October 2009 and I thought it was about time I gave a progress report on where we have got to in the short space of time since this website changed from being just an idea to a reality.
My aims were to initially have a website on which I could show off some of the jewellery that I have designed and created and that one seems to have been achieved as you can see from the galleries that have been put up showing off some, not all, of the necklaces and bracelets that I have made over the last six months. So that seems to be a big tick in the box.
My next aim was to create some way of allowing you to buy some of these finished items of jewellery. The hunnisucklebeads shop has a growing range of finished Necklaces, Bracelets, Pendants and Earrings in an easy to use shop format which accepts secure online payment through Paypal and Google checkout. I also accept payment by cheque and postal order through the post if you prefer to pay that way. With Christmas just around the corner why not take a quick look to see if there is anything there that catches your eye. So that seems to be another big tick.
The third aim was to have an area in the shop where you could buy items which would allow you to make up jewellery of your own. This area is growing at a steady rate with new lines being added on a weekly basis. At the moment you can get fish hook earwires, headpins, eyepins, jump rings and small, 3 and 4mm, spacer beads in a range of colours such as silver, gold, red copper, near black and antique bronze. All are plated alloy and can be found in there own section of the shop under the findings category. I think where we are up to on this aim is probably a half a tick at best as I would like to see more findings added to the list and also get some glass bead lines on there as well as tools so as it can be a one stop shop for you to create your own jewellery. To be fair though that is going to take a while to build to that kind of level.
The final aim - the big one !! Now that is still some way off but don't worry we haven't totally forgotten about it. That was always the long term aim and it still is but one day I will have a bricks and mortar shop of my own ( and trust me if Debbie wants it she generally gets it !! ).
